Plasma TV & Projection Systems

The plasma TV or projection system plays centre stage for most lounge cinemas. The ultimate in home entertainment is to reproduce an experiential environment by incorporating all the exciting visual and aural effects. Projection TV systems produce the largest size image consistent with the clearest picture which when thrown on to a dedicated white reflective Electric Screen is Home cinema. The latest DLP (Digital Light Processor) projectors are quite small and can be suspended from the ceiling or made to disappear from sight on a motorised platform. They can be located in front of the screen, or in the coffee table, however as being closer to the screen results in a smaller image, a wide angle lens is required to compensate. Screens are available from 5ft to 12ft wide and can be designed to retract flush in to the ceiling or in to a custom made pelmet.

To complete the ‘big picture’, a Dolby Digital Surround Sound System is required. At the heart of the system is a highly specified AV Amplifier which feeds quality Loudspeakers that can be mounted into the ceiling or walls and a Sub Woofer for Bass extension which can be free standing or custom built into a wall or cabinet. For small scale home cinema, Plasma & LCD screens offer many solutions in both Wide screen and regular formats. Plasma Screens are currently manufactured in sizes from 37” to 103” (measured across the diagonal) and are made in Wide Screen format. Brightness and contrast have been greatlyimproved since the early versions appeared and they also have much longer life spans.
