Project 2 – Room with a View
From room with a view, to room with a great view!
The design team had an exciting challenge on their hands with a north London penthouse media makeover … to make the view inside even better than the view of the outside. Not an easy task when utilising existing materials from cables to conduits!
Following the initial consultation, site survey and architectural observations – the team designed the solution.
The installation of plasmas and LCD screens were just the starting point with bespoke furniture housing the front speakers and all of the AV equipment plus the main 42” plasma mounted on a swing-out bracket to allow for optimum viewing.
Then came the sound!
A multi room sound server, both ipod and laptop compatible, stored an entire CD collection with an internet look-up facility, cataloguing the music. All of this was housed in the above cabinet.
An additional ‘party mode’ option gave crystal clear sound in up to eight different rooms simultaneously and a lighting control system for every room to set the mood perfectly.
Wireless computer access and a printer server made the penthouse fully interactive and the addition of a single remote control for all devices provided the icing on the cake.
