The original AC Cobra crossed the Atlantic in 1966 to Carroll Shelby’s plant in Las Vegas and ended up as the Shelby Cobra with both 289 and 427 engines. The UK AC factory closed down in 2002 and although production restarted in Malta in 2006 this appears to have ceased.
